Winston

The Wellington Club has informed it’s members, that after 20 years of service, Winston is leaving to move to Brisbane. The Club is having their farewell for him on 13 May, but we have agreed to do our own farewell, at our meeting this week, 7 May.
Anyone who would like to make a donation for a gift, please pay it into the club account by end of Monday, so we can organise something appropriate. The Board will top up any donations so the club as a whole is farewelling him.

Gillian Robertson

It is with a heavy heart, that we heard about the death of Gillian Robertson last week. Gillian and Christopher were staunch and very active members of our club, and now have the status of Honarary Members. Gillian’s funeral is being held on Monday 5 May at 11am at St. Lukes in Wadestown. Several of us will be in attendance, and form a guard of honour as the casket leaves the church. Christopher told me that he and Gillian had been together for 60 years.

Gillian and Winston leave an indelible imprint in the history of our club. We will find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared time with them both.

The Salt Path
On the evening of 11 May, 29 of us will join together to see the movie “The Salt Path”. I am sure it will be a very good and also interesting movie as it traces a couple walking around the coast of the UK mainland.
