Notes on our  speakers:
Jacqui Harper is  General Manager of the  Innovative Young Minds programme designed to encourage young women to explore science, technology, engineering, mathematics and high-tech manufacturing - the STEMM sector. The programme was the brainchild of Rotary Hutt City, who initiated the programme in 2017 in partnership with Hutt City Council. Rotary Club of Port Nicholson has sponsored students to the annual IYM Residential programme  for Year 11 and 12 female students in the greater Wellington region.  We also arrange for an IRANZ Panel to present at the IYM Online programme which is available to students throughout Aotearoa and the Pacific.

 

Emilia Kostynchuk from Onslow College and Snehal Maram from Wellington College attended with the Club’s support the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum in Auckland  this January. For 14 days 168 students explored tertiary-level science, mathematics and technology with lectures, laboratories and site visits.
