Daniel was raised in the wilderness of the South Island's Buller region. Since he was 8, he loved playing guitar. His father and uncle played with a unique finger-style approach that he adopted, inspired by them and classical music found in the family's collection of vinyl records and cassette tapes. He went on to excel in a number of talent quests during his school years and was awarded the 2015 Joan Prior Award for Young Performers at the Wellington Folk Festival that year. Daniel completed tertiary studies in Wellington and has chosen the city as his home. Today he in a prominent busker - a day job between performing at various functions and events around the region. He says that the musician lifestyle is both fulfilling, and offers freedom to work on other creative projects on the quieter days. He recently composed the music for upcoming independent feature film 'Status Pending'.
