Finn Messerli
Finn is a member of Generation Zero a climate advocacy organisation
Generation Zero is a youth-led organisation in New Zealand focused on transitioning society away from its dependency on fossil fuels and combating climate change.
Finn was awarded the PM's Future Scientist Prize in 2018. Also during 2018, Finn’s research won the Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Science Innovation Prize in the NIWA Wellington Regional Science and Technology Fair.

Having reached the end of our 35 th anniversary celebrations, I am grateful to everyone who took a part in organising and contributing to the celebrations. I know I have thoroughly enjoyed hearing from Bob, Howard, Jean, and Rob, not only to learn more about them, but also to have a sense of how we have come to be the Club we are today. It is a history that we can be extremely proud of.
It was a privilege to present Dawn with her second Paul Harris Sapphire pin on Wednesday. Well done and very well deserved.
On Friday we had a huge turn out for Friday Frolics at Chapman Taylor. See photo below.
It was great hear (at lunch) that we have raised the $2000 which was committed to the Predator Free project. As agreed by Tony’s Board, that amount has been made up from the money raised at two Waitangi parking days, and the rest from member contributions to the trapping counts.
A personal thank you from me to everyone who takes a turn at doing a duty on Wednesdays, as well as to Lou, Nicole, and Peter who organise the meetings in the background, and Paula who ensures the tally of people present is correct.

We are partnering again with the Friends of Tawa Bush Reserves (Tawabush.org.nz) for a final tree planting for this year with a goal to plant 1,000 native trees to add to the 1,700 trees we’ve planted this year.
Dress for the winter weather, bring water, gardening gloves and a spade (bring spares to share if you have them.

Did you know that 1 in 3 Kiwis will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetimes? That's a lot of people affected by cancer, and it clearly shows the growing demand for services funded by your support on Daffodil Day.

Fabulous Flashback Friday
There was an amazing turn out at Chapman Taylor Cafe despite the weather for Flashback Friday Lunch this month. 15 were expected and 25 turned up. It was good to see John Bishop there and Noel Winslow as well as Alan Strawbridge a past member.
