David Stubbs is a Wellington based film producer and director. 
The evening’s talk was about previous and current projects, mainly with Libertine Pictures, based in Avalon, Lower Hutt. 


David commented that Wellington was like New Dublin in many ways, and used to be a hub of creative activities, with Peter Jackson’s works creating thousands of jobs for thousands of people. He is proud to be a part of this creative industry, and introduced productions such as Under the Vines, Daffodils, and Secrets at Red Rocks. He continued his talk with current challenges and opportunities such as YouTube, AI generated visual effects, and so on. He also commented on ongoing efforts to bring diversity in creative industries including Maori and Pacifica voices. He completed his talk, advocating for the local content, celebrating power of NZ story telling.
