This week we had presentations from 3 youth speakers Charlotte, Emma and Mugundhan These come from our Rotary sponsored programmes with Emma attending the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) and Charlotte and Mugundhan attending the Rotary Science Forum held in Auckland.
They talked individually about their experiences and learning from attending these Rotary programmes.
Charlotte particularly singled out her site visits and the fact that she had a unique opportunity to mix with other students of like minds. She highlighted the quiz and talent shows that helped add to her personal confidence. She concluded with the fact that she had made 117 new friends during her time at the Forum: well, done Charlotte!
The second presenter was Emma attended RYLA. She echoed many of Charlottes comments but particularly commented on the focus/ improvement in her problem-solving skills.
Mugundhan had similar comments on the benefits of the Forum and added the robotics presentations and the opportunity to collaborate was a highlight for him.
It was great to share in their experiences at these two invaluable Rotary youth programmes. May there be many future opportunities for our young people to grow through their experiences participating in RYLA and the science forum.
