FLASH BACK FRIDAY - MEAN DOSES BAR 66 TORY STREET - UPSTAIRS 12pm Friday 6 March 2026 Howard recently said to me, "Lou, let's kick the year off with a visit to Mean Doses, Tory Street. The guy who runs it is "Dean Moses" (great spoonerism) and he is keen to open early for us to come and sample a few of their beers and eat some delicious food from either Apache or their in house catering. We have been there before, some years ago - so it will be great to go back and revisit them and give them some custom. Please feel free to bring along friends and family. With so many places closing in the CBD it would be great to support another bar and brewery that we are so lucky to have right on our doorstep, with as many people as we can get. Please can I have registrations in by Wednesday 4 March 6pm - don't forget to register friends and family when you do your own registration so that we can give Dean some numbers :) Looking forward to our first Flash Back of the year!!! Wooo Hooo!!!! Lou |

Eastbourne walk followed by picnic / bbq in Days Bay
This walk is scheduled for 8 March and being led by Nicole, details are as follows:
Valley Walk
We will start at the corner of Kowhai St and Muritai Rd at 9.30am and walk along to to the Muritai Park track. Then there is a good climb up to the ridge followed by a downhill to the beautiful valley floor, which we walk along following the small river. Then have another good hill climb back up to the ridge and down to Kowhai St where the cars are parked.
Poles and tramping boots are recommended to make the walk more enjoyable.
It takes us about 1.5 hours to walk so it will probably take 2-2.5 hours for the group. We recommend a reasonable level of hill fitness.
Picnic Lunch
Lunch is at our place from 12 onwards at 5 Tui Rd Days Bay. People are welcome to just join us for the picnic /BBQ. They can catch the ferry over if they like as we are about 500 metres from the Days Bay Wharf.
If people could bring a plate to share like we did at Phillipa's that would be great. We will provide the meat for the BBQ. Children are welcome as we have the park and beach in walking distance. :)
FYI we do have roadworks around here as they are building the cycleway (due to finish in March/April). They should not be working on a Sunday but just to be sure I would encourage people to use google maps to check on the time it takes to get here. Nicole
Please can you register for this walk for yourself, friends and family by Friday 6 March 9am,
Lets hope the weather stays fine. Come for the walk or just for lunch - it will be lovely to have everyone enjoying the beautiful scenery that Eastbourne offerrs and sharing food together. Huge thanks to Nicole for leading and hosting :)
