Last week I received a lovely email from a past recipient of our Goal Setters Awards back in 2001(ish). Rowan Brookes at the time was starting her studies at Victoria University. She is now at Monash University and has just received the Telstra Business Women of the Year Award for Victoria (Public Sector and Academia).

She wanted to say thank you to our club and what Rotary has done for her and in how Rotary helps young people so much "to grow potential and change lives". 

If anybody had any doubts about the value of our Goal Setters Awards this serves as a great reminder of how important they are in the lives of those who have been recognised by them. As Rowan puts it, " to walk across the stage to achieve that award and shake hands with Helen Clark gave me the courage to push through many difficult times because I knew that people were standing behind me saying we believe in you".

With the scheduled speaker presenting as a no show, three members of the club were quickly corralled into speaking about an important matter on their mind.

We need help transporting a 90 year old Rotarian to a celebration for Victoria Legacy Club members in the Adam Art Gallery from 5.30 – 7.30 pm next Wednesday 26th October.

Survey for Our Auction 

Hi Folks

 

I have used survey monkey to create a very short survey for members to canvass their views on which charities we should support and any changes they would like to see in the format of the evening.  Thanks to those who gave comments on the draft survey.
