Board meeting
We had the first board meeting of the 2026. These are the main items discussed;
Steve Lawton presented Pride in the Workplace as an option for our rotary as it fits well with business memberships
Themed sharing to once a month and personal highlights weekly
The annual plans for the Community, Youth and Project Committees were approved.
26 May is Rotary Day of Service. We are looking for a project that the Wellington rotary clubs can do together. Ideas are welcome. The full set of minutes will be available when they have been approved.
Social Events this week
We have two social events this week. We have flashback friday at MEAN DOSES BAR at 12pm on Friday and a walk and /or picnic BBQ at Days Bay on Sunday. See below to register. We look forward to seeing you there.
Welcoming New Member Fiona Smith
The Rotary Club of Port Nicholson happily welcomed Fiona Smith as our newest member. Fiona graduated from Victoria University in 2000 with a First Class Honours Degree in Politics and has worked in leadership roles in communications, fundraising and events with the New Zealand Labour Party, Volunteer Service Abroad, Volunteer Wellington, Arthritis New Zealand. She is now a freelance consultant in Wellington sharing her expertise. Fiona is joining the Youth Committee, Have a great week,Nicole
2026 Rotary Conference Update
We have 11 members and 7 partners/spouses attending the March conference in Napier. A fantastic turnout in support of DG elect Brent.
If you would like to join us please email Peter on syrahnz@gmail.com. We are anticipating getting together on the Friday night, after the conference opening, for a casual dinner together. More coming shortly.
