I have been a member of Port Nicholson since December 2015 and served in the community services committee. I was secretary to the board for three terms during the presidency of John Bishop (2017-2018), Bev Wells (2018-2019) and David Shackleton (2019-2020). I was elected president for 2020-2021 and absolutely enjoyed it. I consider myself an active member of Port Nicholson Rotary, enjoy the services we offer and the fellowship of Rotarians. I was born in Malaysia and came to New Zealand in 1970 to attend final year of High school and then onto Victoria University where I completed a degree in business management and finance. I am a citizen of Aotearoa. I am married to Sue and we have three boys and a granddaughter, all of whom reside in Melbourne, Cambridge (UK) and London. Sadly, Covid has killed the frequent visits we used to make. We live in Roseneath, Wellington. I retired from the Todd Corporation in 2011 after 31 years in senior management and now keep myself busy with Rotary, adventure travel (when I could), reading, investments management and generally having fun with friends, family. I have skills in financial planning, business management and governance.
Rotary in New Zealand’s Centenary year:
News item from New Zealand 100 years ago:
Waikato times, 21 July 2021: Shakespeare Club “Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Hamilton Shakespeare Club reverted to Shakespeare last night, when they read the immortal bard’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream.” That interest in the best in literature is increasing was manifested by the very large audience, many people having to be turned away owing to lack of room.

To fellow Rotarians.......
A NZ company, Lanaco Ltd has donated N95 level masks to Rotary District 9940 which we are now shipping to Fiji. The Suva East Rotary Club is managing the distribution of these to people in villages that would not normally have access to this sort of quality product.
RNZWSC has underwritten the NZ$5000 cost of transporting these to Fiji and is now asking for support to cover this cost.
The poster from RNZWSC below seeks support for this shipping cost.
