Evening meeting July 23
On Wednesday July 23rd we have our first evening meeting. We have an inspiring young speaker Grace Curtis a mental health advocate and author, who has recently launched her new book 'The best is yet to come' at Parliament. 
 
We are trialing three evening meetings -one a month. Please come along and bring your family and friends to experience what Club Nic Rotary has to offer without having to get up at 6am. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Deputy Director of Digital Safety at DIA

His topic is, "Digital safety, child abuse and AI."

The Digital Safety Group work with domestic and international agencies to help prevent New Zealanders from online harm in relation to child sexual exploitation, violent extremist content and unsolicited commercial electronic messages.

Annual Plan
The new Rotary Board got together on Saturday to build the annual plan for our club. We will look to have a draft plan to share with the club by early August, which will give us time to incorporate the feedback from our interviews with every member of the club. Thank you to the team to giving up your Saturday afternoon to do this.
Tree Planting

Six members have registered. Can you come to help????
Please join us for our annual tree planting on Sunday at 1.00pm with The Friends of Tawa's Bush Reserves for the seventh year.  Our goal is to build on what we have done in the last six years – over 4800 trees in total!  I am coordinating the Club’s participation and can be reached on 021 265 6220 or email landm.king@xtra.co.nz 
 
 
From District Changeover 28 June
10 of our club members attended this changeover at Boulcott Farm in Lower Hutt.
Here we witnessed Jocelyn present Carol Green with the DG Chain of office, and Carol presented the DG Elect pin to our own Brent Gerrard. We are so proud of you Brent, and will support you as much as we can, and you need.
 
Book Group
 
The next Book Group will be held on 30 July at 5.30pm on Level 6 of the Wellington Club. We will talk about crime novels or non-fiction. Please feel free to join us even if you haven't read a crime book recently.  As everyone needs to be accompanied by a Wellington Club member, meet on the the 4th floor and then walk up. Please RSVP to David Barnes so he can advise the club of numbers.

Connecting Women from Poneke

Women of Poneke is a group of Wellington women with a vision to inspire, connect and uplift the voices of Wellington women - and help to contribute to the future of “our place”. Founded by eight women with shared passions, including Lou Aitken, the lead speaker. The group organises quarterly events with themes like "me, we, Poneke" (learning, collective support, and positivity).
