Club Pantry Donations for our new Refugees

Club members have again generously donated pantry supplies for refugees arriving in Wellington this December. Marc Rands and the Service Committee would like to thank everyone that donated and look forward to your continued support in 2026. Wishing you all the best for the New Year.

New Year Perambulators Meander - Kapiti Coast.

Philippa Bascand (RCPN Alum) and her partner Tony have invited Port Nicholson perambulators and Club members to a meander and picnic at their farm and bush on the Kapiti Coast on 1 February.

Philippa is inviting us to stroll through farm land and suggests boots are recommended as hillocks are uneven. They also  have a pool so folk are welcome to bring togs and enjoy a swim. Philippa is suggesting we might like to bring a spade to plant trees as well!

More details to follow but this could be a great day out and everyone is welcome.

Q and the Circus Hub

Today the circus came to Rotary.
Angharad from the Wellington Circus Trust, and Q from the Circus Hub told us about their respective roles and organisations, but first, we did some muscle flossing exercises. These stimulate proprioception (how your body knows where it is in space and what position it is in). Body awareness is a fundamental of circus performance especially tight rope walkers, which is Q’s speciality. She went into a circus programme at five years old, studied for her degree and masters in other subjects, but returned to her love of circus.
