Murray Edridge  & Orange Sky

Murray Edridge, the Wellington City Missioner will be hosting us. After eating,  we have the option to join a short tour of the new social supermarket hosted by WCM.

Orange Sky is a not-for-profit organisation providing people experiencing homelessness with access to free laundry services, warm showers and genuine, non-judgmental conversation, across New Zealand.

Their mission is to positively connect communities by providing a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are often ignored or feel disconnected from their community.

Please arrive at 7am for a 7.30 start.
This will be an informal meeting with no member duties*******
As WCM is a service for many vulnerable people, please ensure you wear your mask at all times, unless you are seated and eating.
Feel free to bring any food donations with you to pass on at the meeting.

Special Invitation

I am Naoto Segawa, I am a musician residing in Wellington. I received the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship in 2012 which enabled me to study abroad and pursue my passion for music. This year, I will be touring all over Aotearoa New Zealand presented by Chamber Music New Zealand. As a token of my gratitude towards all the Rotary club members who supported my study, I would like to invite you to my concerts. I can arrange complimentary tickets if anyone would be interested.

The concert in Wellington region will be held at St Andrews on the Terrace, 30 The Terrace, Wellington on the 14th of August, 3pm.

Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
