President David
Greetings Rotary friends,
There is so much happening in our vibrant club. At our last meeting, we heard from Tavā, Tahlia and Nehemia from Zeal, which organizes spaces and activities for young people to learn new skills, hang out and just enjoying being young. Our focus on youth means that we get to meet so many incredible young people, either those speaking to us, or those we help.
Thanks to DG Brent Gerrard for sharing his recent experience in Taipei at the Rotary conference. The dynamism we’re seeing in Rotary across Asia, Africa and India is an inspiration to us here in New Zealand.
Thanks to Lisa King for organising the tree planting at Tawa Bush on 6 July. The group, including a small number from RCPN, wasted no time and planted 900 trees in two hours, while enjoying the fine day.
Next week, we look forward to New Member talks from Fiona Smith and Charles Little. Such talks are popular with our members because we learn about the richness of talent and experience in our membership.
Don't forget the book club meeting organized by Aparna on Thursday 23 July at 5.30pm at the Wellington Club. The theme is autobiographies. After all your reading, join the Perambulators on Sunday 26 July on a walk on Wrights Hill Karori. See the Bulletin for details.
There is something for everyone at RCPN.
Have a great week.
RCPN Perambulators welcome everyone to join them
Where: Wrights Hill and Karori Park Cafe 400 Karori Road
When: 26 July 2026 9.45 for a 10am start
Yes the Perambulators are getting out and about again!
This time we are going to meet at Karori Park Pavillion, at 9.45 for a 10am departure. Park your car at the Park or on the road beside the Park. From there we will do a car shuttle to the start of the walk, and do a circuit back to the Park for lunch. Rick is organising the circuit. Make sure you have good walking shoes and poles for those who like to use them. A drink, snack and jacket is also a good idea.
After our hike we will eat lunch at the Karori Park Cafe. This is a very relaxed place to eat.The menu leans to familiar café classics like toasted sandwiches and eggs Benedict, as well as options like the avocado bacon burger or a bacon and cheese pie.
Please register by Friday 24 July so we know how many to expect. Friends and family are most welcome!
Looking forward to another lovely Perambulation :)
Lou and Rick
