President's Message
What a celebration we had on Thursday morning!
The Goal Setters Awards, one of our club’s keystone events, was a huge success with three inspiring awardees, a captivating guest speaker and a large group of 200 in attendance.
My sincere thanks to Jane Paterson, Richard Brodie, the committee, sponsors and helpers for all that you did to help make the event so successful. Thank you also to our club members who sold tickets and tables. It was great to see so many Rotarians present and also to have other Rotary clubs represented.
Every year this event epitomizes why we have so much to feel proud about in being members of the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson!
This week we will hear from a young researcher who has been exploring the history of Rotary’s work in New Zealand. It will be interesting to hear his findings and perspective through a different lens.
Hope to see you there!
Bev

No entries last week so have another go everyone......
This is a fun run or walk covering either 10km or 21 kms. For those that are focused on fun, each of the drink stops (5 around the circuit) are themed and serve wines from the local vineyards along with the more traditional water.
Below is the web site that has all of the required information:
The standard entry fee is $40 however if we register as teams of 4 we will be able to raise $5 per entrant for our own Club projects. Last year we made a reasonably significant contribution to the purchase of an ERK. Peter will handle all of the entries, including initial payment, so you need to advise him urgently if you want to participate. This can be as strenuous or not as you choose.
Following the completion of the fun run or walk we have been invited back to Linda and Craig Wellington's home at Morrison's Bush for a BBQ lunch.
If you are interested in attending this event please advise Peter Whittington urgently as teams and entries are about to be completed. Email him if you are interested in participating - syrahnz@gmail.com.
