John Bishop

It was with great sadness we learned of John’s passing on Friday evening. John suffered a massive aneurysm on Wednesday and never recovered. Many of us were lucky to have seen John last week when he attended the morning meeting.

John joined the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson in 2007 and was a well respected and admired colleague and friend. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Rosemary, Christopher, Eleanor and his extended family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn their loss. More information will be forthcoming as we are updated.

Gavin is a licensed Private Investigator, Privacy Professional and experienced leader. He is a fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

His topic will be, "Privacy."

Hi everyone,

I am having an absolutely wonderful holiday. Have had one week in Malta and one week in Menton on the French riviera. Tomorrow we go Cassis near Marseille for a week. Thank you to all of the people who attended to their outstanding accounts, very much appreciated.

My thoughts are with the Bishops as we all do I am sure.

Tracey Watkins- The future of regional journalism

This week we hosted Tracy Watkins, the Editor of the Sunday Star-Times, Sunday News and Stuff Sundays. Her current main project is to develop a successful website for The Post. This website needs to be based on subscribers paying for access, not free for everyone, because money for advertising does not now cover the costs. In other words, there will be a pay-wall for those wanting access to more quality news. Who would disagree with that?

Fabulous fund raiser event

On Saturday night four of our effervescent members staged a Casino night for the Tawa Squash Club earning our club $600. It was a fabulous evening enjoyed by around 45 members and partners of the Squash Club. Thanks to Darryl for organising.
