 Malaghan Institute of Medical Research update
If you would like to know more about the wonderful work of the Malaghan scientists join us for an update on Thursday 17 October at Prefab Hall, 14 Jessie Street. Refreshments from 5pm, starting at 5.30-7pm. 
Cancer survivor David Downs will be in conversation with Malaghan Deputy Director Professor Kirsten Wiig and Clinical Director Dr Rob Weinkove. Contact Jane Paterson janejpaterson@gmail.com to register
 
Golf fund raiser for the Malaghan
Come and join us on Friday 22 November at the Royal Wellington Golf Club for a Charity Golf day. Teams of 4 playing ambrose with lots of food and drink around the course. Lunch before tee off at 12.30. Dinner and prizes after the event.  To register contact Jane Paterson janejpaterson@gmail.com. It would be great to continue members support of the Malaghan Institute. 
Lets help raise some money for "Everybody Eats" as well as having a fun get together
Jack inspired many of us to get out and support them so we have decided to go on 13 October.

The plan is to meet at The Malthouse at 5.30 and then head up to Everybody Eats for dinner about 7pm - time for dining needs to be confirmed.  Click here to register

Privacy- Gavin Knight 
Gavin provided us with an overview of the Privacy Act (2020) and outlined the things we can do to meet our obligations.  The Information Privacy Principles are Collecting information, Holding it, Using and Disposing of it.  Under the heading collecting information, it has to be necessary and you should only collect information from the person directly not via a third party.  It must also be transparent in that the purpose the information is collect for is clear to the individual.  Holding information requires security safeguards that are reasonable and that individuals can have access to their information.  It should also be noted that individuals have the right to correct personal information.
