Not a lot to report this week but I have had an email from Mike Selvadurai enquiring as to whether we were going to register as a group to attend the District Conference in New Plymouth next April. Nonie and I have registered and we are very much looking forward to visiting Taranaki, which has recently received high accolades as one of the best paces to visit. It would be good if we could get a group of us together and book the accomodation early if possible. If anybody is interested in organising this please let me know.

On the note of receiving accolades, Howard has kindly informed me that the Intercontinental, our hosts, have been named New Zealand’s Leading Hotel at the 2016 World Travel Awards. Congratulations to them for receiving this prestigious award.

Inspired science entrepreneurs needed!

Dr Justin Hodgkiss of the MacDiarmid Institute gave a fascinating talk. He introduced his presentation by saying that if there were just 100 inspired entrepreneurs in the high technology sector it would double New Zealand’s export earnings.

Port Nicholson Gardeners...time for action!!

Hi Folks,

It's that time again....brush off the dried mud from your gumboots and grab your gardening gloves. We have a job to do in Whitby - topping a hedge row of shrub/trees and clearing an overgrown area of small trees and shrubs. We may have access to a mulcher which means that some wheelbarrow loading and unloading may also be required.

I am looking at either November 13th or 20th and hope to start around 9.30am and finish around 12.3am. You don't need to be there the whole time...any help is appreciated.

Just a reminder that we already have the money in the bank for this as it was sold at our auction.

Let me know if you can make it for either weekend (or both) and I'll make a decision based on numbers available...drop an email to brent.gerrard@zephyr.co.nz.

I have used survey monkey to create a very short survey for members to canvass their views on which charities we should support and any changes they would like to see in the format of the evening. Thanks to those who gave comments on the draft survey.
