Disaster Relief for Ukraine
You CAN help, by making a donation.
Rotary International’s* Disaster Relief programme is actively assisting the people caught up in the appalling atrocities happening right now in Ukraine. The programme is providing relief to refugees and other victims of the crisis including items such as water, food, shelter, medicine, and clothing.
You can donate through the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson’s Charitable Trust.
Make your donation to bank account 03 0502 0407484 00, with your name and “Ukraine” as the reference.
All donations over $5 will get a tax receipt. Send your name and email contact address to Peter Whittington at syrahnz@gmail.com.
*Rotary International’s Foundation is a highly reputable Charity renowned for taking action, not just talking, and is extremely efficient in the management of the funds it collects for projects – over 90% of funds go to the projects.

Notices
RCPN on Zoom
Click this link or the one at the top of this bulletin to join us online at 7am on Wednesday.
You may have had a call recently from a member of the club to see how you’re getting on. The establishment of a phone tree is a Welfare initiative, to check in with everyone during this wave of Covid. If you need any support, please don’t hesitate to ask. Our Club will be delighted to help any way we can.
RCPN Book Club
Club members interested in forming a book club are invited to meet for half an hour over coffee after the Club meeting on Wednesday to discuss setting one up. A few members have expressed interest in sharing conversations about books and what they are reading.
If this interests you but you are not attending meetings in person during covid, please let Philippa B or Linda W or David Barnes know. We can set up a zoom meeting to discuss how a book club might work.
MISSING HI VIS
While Neon is particularly fetching as we move into Autumn, would the culprit who has accidentally swiped our third hi-vis vest please return it?
Waitangi Markets
Please sign up to spend a couple of easy hours at the Waitangi Vegetable Market, directing cars and being a friendly face (before you buy your own veges, perhaps?).
ZOOM Support
Is anyone able to help out with ensuring our club is Zooming to the masses each week? Brent does an incredible job of this, but is not always able to attend our meetings. If you are able to help out with this on occassion, please let Brent or Hayley know.
It is a quick and easy role, and now that the club has two laptops, you don't even need to bring your own! Training is simple and your help will be hugely appreciated
Rotary coordination and funding support is saving young lives on the Kāpiti Coast. This is thanks to a fresh initiative, Lifting the Lid on Suicide, developed by the Rotary Clubs of Kāpiti, Waikanae, Levin and Mana Whenua.
I am the Executive Director of Freemasons New Zealand, which is a worldwide fraternity and charitable organisation with 5,500 members and approximately 200 Lodges across New Zealand. I am responsible for implementing their strategy, running the National Office and providing support to the freemasons charities, lodges and members. Recently we acquired a small lifestyle property in the Wairarapa and split my time between working in Wellington and pottering on the land.
