Apologies to all but I have mucked up my calendar and will be away in Nelson for this week's meeting. Rick Hughes has kindly agreed to preside over Wednesday’s meeting in my absence.
Antz Zogg has very kindly agreed to give his talk this week on Wednesday 8th and we will now have our important Club Forum the following week on the 15th.
So our next three weeks are as follows:
Wednesday 8th: New member Antz Zogg speaking
Wednesday 15th: Club Forum.
Wednesday 22nd: John Allen. Victoria University Chancellor.
I am hoping that members will make their attendance at the Club Forum a priority as it is your chance to have your say. We will have an important agenda which will be headed by views regarding our chosen charities for the future and ideas for encouraging new members for the future.
We will also discuss the rationale around Rotary Regional Club Groupings in the future.
What else would you like on the agenda? Please let me know if you have a pressing issue you would like discussed.
The Port Nicholson Rotary Club defies most present trends which point to a declining Rotary movement, so it is a particularly good time for us to consider additional and new approaches allowing us to become even more adaptable and flexible in the future.
Bringing a potential new member remains a key priority for the coming weeks.

Submit your Rotary Community Groups Club Preferences
Everyone received an email on 17 October headed "Rotary Zone 8 Regionalisation Pilot Update", the following is part of the email and is what Carol Green referred to last week at Rotary and President Tony referred to in his Thoughts above.
Time is running out for clubs to submit their Rotary Community Groups (RCG) preferences. A key part of the Pilot, RCGs are expected to foster greater collaboration among clubs so they can work more effectively and at a larger scale than they could on their own.
Currently clubs, through their President, are being asked to complete a club preferences form by the end of October to help them be placed into a RCG. More information on RCGs can be found here.
We encourage all members to consider what opportunities your club might be able to take advantage of as part of Regionalisation.
