Report from our last meeting
of the year...

Glasses of champagne and fresh strawberries awaited us at our last formal meeting for 2020.

President Mike reviewed what has been an extraordinary year with Covid but also in the resilience and creativity of the RCPN in  carrying on with its ambitious plans to help our community despite set-backs. Mike paid tribute to Directors for their work and for supporting him, but also in the way all members contributed in myriad ways to the success of the Club.

We also acknowledged the work of Ken Rayner, who has been the Co-President of Interact at Wellington College and honorary member of RCPN. In replying, Ken wisely reminded us that even though we might be proud of our fundraising and community work, Rotary is ultimately about people and fellowship. He said this is what meant the most to him about Interact. Rotary also connected us to something bigger - the world-wide network of Rotary International.

We also formally welcomed Eden Skipper (Ngaai Tahu) to our membership. Eden has already been involved informally with Rotary for several years and and received a RYLA.  We are fortunate Eden has chosen to formalise his status as a Rotarian by joining our club.

As this is the last Club Report for 2020, on behalf of the Reporting team, have a safe and merry Christmas and may 2021 be another enjoyable and fulfilling year for RCPN.

The Perambulators' Christmas Event

Once again David and Sheryn Shackleton so generously opened their home and invited us to celebrate another "Perambulators' Year" with a walk through the beautiful Karori bush followed by a delicious luncheon with contributions from all attending.

A group of 18 took part in the walk and then several members joined for the luncheon.

A message from John........

Another excellent result......

Yesterday’s total was $364 lower than last week partly because the council took its standard deduction of $200 rather than the $100 they took last week.

John thanks  all who took part and said the  "newbies" seemed to enjoy their day in the sun.
