Thanks to Lindsay, David and Sheryn, Howard and Jenny and Tessa and the team from Rotaract, Princess Beach is a much cleaner place. On Saturday they joined Rotary Club of Wellington South for the beach clean up and here is the proof....thank you all, a great effort!

Member Profile: Yon Yi Sohn

Hi, I've been with the RCPN since 2017. I am now dividing my time between Wellington and London, so I join the RCPN activities in a rather sporadic manner. My base is in Wellington Central. Would be good to have a catch up in the Northern Hemisphere, if you are over there sometime, with a cuppa or something stronger!

Brent Gerrard summarises a very informative talk from Dr Richard Levy last week, who shared scientific modelling on what the sea rise in Wellington Harbour might look like in the future, unless we start to make some big changes.

From the President

New Zealand’s Rotary Centenary year: News item from New Zealand 100 years ago:

Waikato times, 26 October 1921: Gallipoli Graves. New Zealand Memorial. To be started next year.

Lieut. Muldenhull, the New Zealand representative at Gallipoli, who has returned to London, has informed Sir James Allen that the cemetery contractors are satisfactorily carrying out the work. The matter which was the subject of previous complaints has been remedied. He is arranging to start the New Zealand memorial at Chunuk Bair early next year. The cost is estimated at $5000.

The Inner City Wellington Residents Association (ICW) needs your help

Over 15,000 people live in Wellington's inner-city (Te Aro and Wellington Central - postcode 6011). Many of these live in one of the 125 apartment buildings located here. The Inner City Wellington Residents Association (ICW) keeps up to date with what's happening in this growing part of our city.

The ICW is keen to create a contact list of Body Corporate chairs and/or committee members in apartments in the city to support the sharing of ideas and information. If you are, or know of, a Body Corporate contact - or perhaps know someone living in an inner-city apartment building who might be interested in finding out more - please contact Jill Wilson, icwproject21@gmail.com
