The purpose of the fund raiser is to provide funds to launch the Lifting the Lid programme in the Hutt Valley. The Hutt Valley team would love your support. Rotary National Science and Technology attendees Jan 2025

Jacqui Harper is the General Manager of the Innovative Young Minds programme designed to encourage young women to explore science, technology, engineering, mathematics and high-tech manufacturing - the STEMM sector.

Emilia Kostynchuk from Onslow College and Snehal Maram from Wellington College attended with the Club’s support the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum in Auckland this January.

Congratulations to Hadleigh and his team, who once again brought home the Jumbo Tennis trophy.

My visit to the Mt. Victoria Club meeting was really good. They were very welcoming and the guest speaker was their RYLA attendee, who spoke extremely well. Mt. Victoria club members have agreed to come to our meeting on 2 April. The speaker we are having that day is one they want to have and she (the speaker) asked if we could combine. I am sure we will make them feel right at home.

Wednesday’s meeting was vibrant and busy. The Predator Free CEO provided a good overview of where the project is at, and presented us with a certificate recognising our Foundation Membership of the project.

We also enjoyed hearing from Paul Woods from Merseyside Rotary, and a fellow philatelist friend of Lindsays.

I am now looking forward to hearing from our Science Forum and RYLA speakers.

With Miramar now designated predator free, phase two of the project is well underway. There is lots of information on the Predator Free Wellington website and you can see the boundaries of this next phase on https://www.pfw.org.nz/sign-up-phase-2/. This next phase is benefiting from all the lessons learned during phase one, resulting in some new approaches.
