19 Rotary members experienced a lovely dinner at Everyone Eats last Sunday

Hip, hip, hooray. Hip, hip, hooray. Hip, hip, hooray. Three big cheers to the Projects Committee for a fabulous Grand Night Out, which I understand to have raised around the $30,000 mark for Lifting the Lid. This was a fine example of what our club can do, and do so very well. Thank you to all of you who contributed in some way or another.

A reminder to please complete the club survey. This is very important for your Board, so they can use the information from the survey results, to inform more detailed discussion on 20 November at our club forum.

Another reminder too that there is an offer to pay $100 per annum for Buying the Box. That means any contribution you make to that section of the Wednesday meetings is covered.

Please see Paula if you are wanting to volunteer for the Tree of Remembrance, as she has Jean’s roster ready to be filled in.

Next week sees the end of October, and the countdown to Christmas. Make sure that you have registered for our club event being held on 8 December at the Top of the Cable Car.

Golf fund raiser for the Malaghan

Come and join us on Friday 22 November at the Royal Wellington Golf Club for a Charity Golf day. Teams of 4 playing ambrose with lots of food and drink around the course. Lunch before tee off at 12.30. Dinner and prizes after the event. To register contact Jane Paterson janejpaterson@gmail.com. It would be great to continue members support of the Malaghan Institute.

Perambulators Governor Grey's Track

Sunday 27 October 2024 10am

We will explore a new track that starts at the bottom of Kelson and ends half way up Hill Road Belmont.

There is some lovely bush, interesting views and it loops back down to the cars.

Brad Weekly-Back – from the USA

We did not know before his Wednesday talk that Brad Weekly was a keen Bruce Springsteen fan, but we do now. Brad, originally from Eugene in Oregon, first came to New Zealand in 2008.
