2022 Dominion Post Wellingtonian of the Year Award
for the Community Service Category.
What a well deserved award recognising the incredible work you have done to contribute to the community, at The Wellington Children's Hospital and beyond..
This week we will hear from
Our elusive DG Marilyn
and
Peter Whittington
overcoming cyclone Gabrielle damage for Brookfields
After many attempts at coming to visit our club, we hope that this time will be the charm! We look forward to welcoming our District Govenor Marilyn Stevens to our breakfast meeting.
Additionally, we will hear from our very own Peter Whittington on the trials, tribulations and moving forward from Cyclone Gabrielle.
Please organise a swap with someone on the roster below if you are unable to complete your duty, and let Brent and Dawn know.

Get your tickets for Goal Setters!
Four very worthy recipients have been selected for the award ceremony on 19 April. They are all studying toward medical qualifications, and we look forward to hearing their stories. Peter Boshier will be the guest speaker.
Contact Richard Brodie for your tickets now. We have not had as many people able to come this year due to school holidays, so every member who can attend (preferably with a +1) is going to be an asset on the morning!
Going back in time
It's the end of day light savings..Which hopefully means a lot of you will have enjoyed a bit of a sleep in this morning.
If you haven't already, set your clocks back one hour, otherwise your timings will be out for the next wee while!
Let’s plant trees to help our planet!
The RCPN are teaming up again with The Friends of Tawa Bush Reserves to plant trees on Sunday June 4th at 1pm.
We will build on the work of the last five years, helping to regenerate our native Bush. This provides habitat and food for the increasing birdlife, lovely walking areas for everyone to enjoy, and importantly, helps slow down climate change.
Everyone is welcome, so please invite family and friends. Interact and Rotaract members are also very welcome! We have now planted over 2,400 trees. Let’s keep adding to that impressive total.
If you would like to take part, please contact Lisa King. She will update you on all the details and let you know if the event needs to be postponed.
Our postponement date will be Sunday 11 June, but hopefully we won't need it!
Thank you for helping us with this important initiative.
Petition for free Cervical screening in NZ
If you didn't manage to sign the petition at our meeting on Wednesday, you can click this link, and very quickly sign the petition to government to fund cervical screening in NZ. The cost of this screening is a barrier to many people, who then are at increased risk of developing cervical cancer as a result.
