The Circus Hub - a performing arts school, a performance venue and charity work."

Q Walker is the GM of The Circus Hub - Aotearoa's largest circus school. She has been in the performing arts her whole life. She grew up in the United States and specialises in wirewalking, but has trained in all of the major areas of the circus. Circus Hub's love and passion for circus arts is at the root of their work to support and grow a thriving circus community in Wellington.

End Polio now - bacon butties 

Congratulations to the End Polio now  team who raised just under $1500 with the bacon butties. That is a very impressive effort.

Rotary conference March 20-22 Napier-

 are you coming?

We have a wonderful opportunity to attend the Rotary conference next year in Napier on the weekend of March 20-22. This is a great time of year to go to the bay and the programme looks interesting and fun. Please let Peter Whittington at syrahnz@gmail.com know if you are attending so we can coordinate travel and accommodation where possible.

Thank you to everyone that attended the AGM and Club forum. We had an excellent turnout to approve the changes to the constitution and brainstorm ideas on membership. 

Membership

 Membership will be the priority focus of the Board for the next six months, with the Board taking on the role of the Membership Committee. Richard Westlake is leading the focus on businesses and Richard Brodie on individuals. Thank you both. The club members came up with over 20 options to follow up for new members.

Evening meetings

We trialed monthly evening meetings for three months as an opportunity to attract new members. While the meeting were most enjoyable it did not attract new members and existing members found the evening meetings conflicted with other priorities. At the forum members were given three options to consider. The majority (16-8) were in favour of a cheap and cheerful meal out once every two or three months. There were several formats suggested which we will follow up on in 2026. 

Children's University graduation at Massey University

Tori and I had the absolute privilege of attending the graduation ceremony of the Children's University at Massey University this week. This is a wonderful concept that gives children and their families/ whanau an opportunity to experience a graduation while their are at primary school, in the hope to inspire them for the future. Filling a Star box for Wellington City Mission

This year we are filling a Star Box for the Wellington City Mission.

Here are things that are suitable to donate please:

• Christmas wrapping paper
• Christmas cake/desserts
• Chippies; nuts; chocolates; relishes/chutneys; crackers/biscuits;
• canned food; rice; pasta/pasta sauce; cereals; snacks; 2 min noodles; milo/coffee; spreads;
• Baking products;

• Shampoo/conditioner.

  All goods need to be with David Barnes or Jo Douglas by 30 November please as they will be collected on 1/2 December by the Mission. For more information about the star boxes click here  .
