A Friendly but Serious Reminder

The staff in the kitchen at The Wellington Club have asked me to let PNRC members know that last minute requests are proving really difficult.

  • If you do not want a meal, or want a special sort of meal, or cannot eat particular foods, you must put it in the comments section of your registration.
  • Late registrations are really hard to cope with as well, as the food is prepared ahead of time for the numbers that I send in on the preceding Tuesday morning about 7.30am.

โ€‹Please help us keep our good reputation with the Club, by respecting thier position and not making it difficult for them

โ€‹NOTE:

  1. RSVP no later than Monday 30 May 5pm (best to do it now)
  2. If you require a special breakfast or no breakfast please add this to the comments box
  3. Include your email address and mobile number in the response
  4. If you wish to bring guests/spouses/partners add them when you register.
  5. Remember to click "save" at the bottom of the page
  6. If you do not receive a confirmation of registration immediately after you have registered, you have not completed the process.  It is really that simple!

Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Following on from the highly successful Cringeworthy [the 70s] this show takes you back to NZ in the 1980s. It’s a feast of contagious Kiwi songs served with a side of spandex, a huge dollop of cheesy comedy, and stunning vocals.

Let the cast take you on a journey showcasing some of NZ’s biggest local and international hits of the decade: The Mockers, Sharon O’Neill, Jon Stevens, The Holidaymakers and more. Get into the groove and wear your best 80s outfits, fluoro lycra and mullets!

Starring: Andrea Sanders, Matt Mulholland, Susie Dunn and Devon Neiman and directed by Andrea Saunders.

You are invited to a fundraiser evening at Circa Theatre on Friday 10 June 2022 at 8.00 pm. Please click on the “Register” link below to attend and to add your guests, or decline.

Tree Planting with Friends of Tawa's Bush
Jun 12, 2022 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Let’s plant trees to help our planet!

Sunday 12 June 1pm

I hope you can join us for our annual tree planting on Sunday 12 June at 1.00pm.  The Rotary Club of Port Nicholson has teamed up with The Friends of Tawas Bush Reserves for the fifth year in a row to plant trees at Woodburn Bush Reserve, 66 Bing Lucas Drive, Tawa.

Our goal is to build on what we have done in the last four years – over 1900 trees in total!  We will continue planting native trees in Tawa to regenerate our native Bush to provide habitat and food for the increasing numbers of native birds, to make lovely walking areas for us all, and to help slow down climate change.  This is open to everyone including family and friends.  Interact and Rotaract members are very welcome to join us so please let them know.

Tree planting is for everyone.  You don’t have to be super fit to join us.  There are several jobs to choose from or you could do some of each such as: digging holes; planting trees, setting out trees for planting, picking up the tree packets for reusing, and / or contributing to the afternoon tea.  There are lots of ways to contribute and everybody is welcome to come along.

If you would like to take part, please accept this invitation and provide your contact phone number and email address.  I am coordinating the Club’s participation and can be reached on 021 265 6220 or email landm.king@xtra.co.nz

If you’re joining us for the tree planting here are the details:

  • Tree planting is at 66 Bing Lucas Drive Tawa on Sunday 12 June 1.00pm start.  (If the address entrance to the planting changes I’ll let you know closer to the time.)
  • Please leave vehicles on Bing Lucas Drive and walk up the private road access to the reserve entrance.  Allow 10 – 15 mins to walk to the planting site.
  • There will be a Friends of Tawa Bush Reserves flag at the Reserve entrance off the private road.
  • We will start with a brief introduction, health and safety talk and planting demonstration on the site when most have arrived so it would be good if we can all get there ready to start on site at 1.00pm.
  • Please bring your own spade and gardening gloves.  If you don’t have a spade feel free to borrow one from a friend or you could help with planting instead.  If you have a spare spade(s), please bring it along as not everyone will have one.  I have one spare spade and plenty of spare gloves which I will bring.
  • Wear clothing appropriate to the weather.
  • I’ll coordinate afternoon tea.  If you’d like to contribute please let me know.
  • I’ll contact you if the weather on the day is unsuitable for planting and we will reschedule.
  • Let’s aim to at least match our previous efforts and plant another 500 trees!
  • If you need to reach me either email me landm.king@xtra.co.nz and/or text/phone 021 265 6220.
NOTE:

1.  RSVP no later than Friday 10 June 5pm (best to do it now)

2.  Include your email address and mobile number in the response

3.  If you wish to bring guests/spouses/partners add them when you register.

4.  Remember to click "save" at the bottom of the page

5.  If you do not receive a confirmation of registration immediately after you have registered, you have not completed the process.  It is really that simple!

I hope to see you on Sunday 12th June at 1pm.  Thank you.
