 ter Dr Tara McAllister (Te Aitanga a Māhaki) is a scientist\, interdiscip
 linary scholar and a mother\, with expertise spanning freshwater ecology t
 o racism in the tertiary sector. She is a Research Fellow\, at the Centre
  for Science in Society Her research has sought to address the underrepres
 entation of Indigenous scholars in academia. She earned a Bachelor of Scie
 nce in ecology and biodiversity and marine biology from the Victoria Unive
 rsity of Wellington and a PhD in water resource management from the Univer
 sity of Canterbury. Tara will be speaking to us on "Formidable Phormidium:
  toxic algae in New Zealand rivers." Looking forward to seeing you all at
